Maternity Frequently Asked Questions

When should we book our maternity session?

As soon as possible! It’s best to contact me to reserve your custom photography session during the early weeks of your second trimester of your pregnancy to ensure my availability. Maternity sessions are recommended around 32-34 weeks of your pregnancy. I am typically booking sessions 6-12 weeks in advance.

Where does the maternity session take place?

Currently we offer two types of maternity sessions – Mini maternity sessions and full. All of the mini maternity sessions are held on location at our studio. The full maternity sessions are held either on location at the studio or at nearby parks, uptown or downtown areas. We will discuss the perfect location for your session as soon as you reserve your custom photography session with Aubrie-Jackson Photography.

Does the maternity session include the father and/or our other children?

Yes! The maternity session may include dad and any siblings. The maternity session will focus on your baby bump and capturing the loving bond between the expecting parents and or/family.

How many pictures will we get during an average session?

The maternity sessions vary depending on the desired session picked. However, you can expect an average of 10-20 images in your online gallery.

What can we expect during the session?

You can expect a photographer that will be very involved in directing you how to pose and instruct you in what to do. We will break the ice and get you to feel comfortable being in front of the camera. You can expect a memorable experience with resulting images that portray the glow and beauty of pregnancy.

What should I bring to the maternity session, and what should I wear?

Everything you will need to know to prepare for your session, including ideas on what to wear and what to bring, will be sent to you as soon as you reserve your custom photography session with Aubrie-Jackson Photography.

Can we do outdoor and studio shots for our session?

Because the session allots for certain time requirements, it is recommended to decide between either outdoor or studio for your location. It may be possible to incorporate both outdoor and indoor set-ups for locations on the Westbank right outside of the studio. Please note that some time may be lost to switching between the two locations.

When will our portraits be available for viewing?

Your gallery of images will be available for viewing approximately 2-3 weeks after your session date. Which is when you will be back at the studio for a custom presentation. Together we will set up your final viewing appointment of your photos in the days following your session(s).

Can digital files be purchased from the session?

Yes, digital collections are available. During our consultation you will be given a complete pricing and investment guide. We also offer special maternity session only discounts that can be applied, which are also included in our investment guide!

Do you edit stretch marks, smooth skin, and pose me in flattering ways to make me comfortable during my maternity session?

Yes! I want you to feel comfortable and confident during your session. I will guide you the entire way during your session. I will be posing you in flattering positions that embrace the beauty of your pregnancy and then helping to bring out those “not-so-posed” natural moments to come out. After your session, I fully edit and enhance each proof that is presented in your final gallery. Take a peek at my portfolio and recent sessions on the blog, Facebook fan page or on Instagram to see examples of how images are edited and enhanced and how proofs will be presented.

What forms of payment do you accept?
